I have been painting a lot in my hobonichi as well, but this is what i've been working on in my junk journal. i'm trying to learn how to start a project and not finish it. i know a lot of people have the opposite problem, but i tend to start and finsih something within an hour or less, no matter what it is. so i'm working on taking my time, on leaving something half done and coming back, and to feel like something is finished and to eventually come back to it and work on it. they're literally shit hahahaha, none of them are finished at all but w/e. these aren't all my pages, i'm missing like 3 i've got just little things put in, but yep. and also my water colors are super chalky buuuut whatever i had fun. I'll post my hobonichi/faubonichi later :x

I'm having one of those days where I feel like I have so much to say and do on paper, and life, but no inspiration for any of it at all. The sun is shining once in awhile, and I am in the mood to just enjoy life. So today I thought I would post images that caught my eye today. Things that got me feeling inspired and ready to create and have a fantastic day!

Daily Inspirations #4: Random

Logic will get you from A to Z. Imagination will get you everywhere...Collapse )
Lately I have been getting really into "Zentangles" and "Zend Doodling" when feel like I want to draw or do something artsy but have no idea what. Its also great for watching movies and TV when you're trying not to vape (or smoke, w/e you're trying to quit haha). So today I figured I'd post some doodlesperations for everyone to check out.
Daily Inspiratins #3: Zen Doodles

A doodle is an unfocused or unconscious drawing made while a person’s attention is otherwise occupied.Collapse )
So, I have been journaling my entire life... basically. Let me explain:
I started keeping a handwritten diary when I was in the 6th grade at eleven years old. In 8th grade, I became fed up with the lack of privacy I had. It was very traumatizing for me that my mother and sister would sniff out my journals and read through them. I then started to paint over my words and draw pictures and glue in photos on top of my words. A couple of years later, when I was in the 10th grade, art-journals blew up all over the internet. Everyone was doing it. I never called my journals "art-journals" or "sketchbooks". I called them "Bookies". In 2008, when I was 20 years old, I joined the Navy. I still drew and painted after bootcamp. But, somewhere along the line while I was in the navy I stopped. I stopped making art and drawing completely (I didn't like being in the navy, I didn't feel like myself). I got out of the military in 2012, nearly three years ago. After gaining my freedom again, I immediately tried to find myself in the constant book I always used to carry around. I tried keeping a sketchbook. I tried a gratitude journal. I tried the DIY versions of Midori and Hobonichi. I kept weekly planners, which is a necessity to schedule my client appointments in. Nothing worked. Within the past month, I finally pulled all my old Bookies out and slowly flipped through them all. I hid them from myself because I didn't feel like that person anymore, and it hurt that I couldn't just easily draw anymore like I always did before. After looking through them, I realized what I had been doing wrong in my attempt to bring it back into my life.
I do not need separate books going at a time. I do not need one journal to write in, and another to paste photographs and doodle in, and another to plan in. I realized that I never used to do anything like all the Youtubers or journal buying addicts you see everywhere. I made my own rules, and only need one book for everything. So, my Bookie is back in my life, and I couldn't be happier. I don't feel like a part of myself is missing anymore. I will be posting pictures again soon, of the current Bookie.
So yeah, I wanted to throw all that out there. Now, let's look at some of my past journal pages within the last 3 years from all these different miscellaneous journals. I just gathered the pages together and put them in binder rings for each year.

It's really cold here where I am in New York, not reaching above 15f degrees today...Spring may be here on the calendar, but the outside sure has not caught up yet. All I can think about is curling up under a big fluffly blanket and just being....Cozy. Maybe it's that it's Sunday, and Sunday is anyone's lazy day, right? So that's today's inspiration theme. Grab some sweat pants, an electric blanket, some hot chocolate and let's get inspired...

Maybe not every single day, but I want to start posting some daily inspirational pictures, videos, and quotes. Sometimes there will be a theme, sometimes there won't. Once we get a solid following again we can cast votes on the next themed inspiration post. And with today being the first day of spring here in the States, I figured it would be a great first theme :D So without further ado....
